How to Access Articles in JSTOR

There are a few reasons you may not be able to access the article.

  1. Make sure that you are logged into AsburyConnect (http://connect.asburyseminary.edu). If you are not logged in, you will not be able to access the article. If you opened JSTOR from a library page but have not logged into AsburyConnect, a screen should pop up asking you to log in.

2. If you are logged into JSTOR properly, it will display the following in the upper right corner. (NOTE: If you don't see this statement, please make sure that you are logged into Asbury Connect and reload the page)

3. JSTOR will sometimes give results to which we do not have full text access. These items will only give you a citation. The good news is that it is fairly easy to figure out if we have access to a particular article. Just compare the symbol to the left of the item's record to the key on the search results page. Note that we may or may not have access to items that have "Full text on external site". If we do not have full text access to the article, you will probably want to check Asbury Scholar and ProQuest to see if we have access to the item in another database. If we don't, fill out a library loan request and we'll try to get it for you.
