Placing a hold on a book

This will guide you through placing a hold on a book in the library catalog.

Brief steps:

  1. Search and locate a book in https://libcat.asburyseminary.edu/
  2. Click "Place a Hold on this Title" in the "Holdings" tab
  3. You will be taken to a screen with a log in section. Log in with your library account information
  4. Choose the pickup location
  5. Submit your hold request
  6. We process your request:
    1. It will take one to three days for our team to process your request.
    2. You will receive an email notification that your books is ready to pick up.
  7. Pick up your items
    1. Come to the Help Desk and they will check out your book to you when you arrive.

1. Search and locate a book in https://libcat.asburyseminary.edu/

You will need to search for a book in the Library Catalog. Choosing the title you are looking for you will see a screen like this:


2. Scroll to the "Holdings" tab below the bibliographic information and click "Place a Hold on this Title" 



3. This will take you to a screen with a Log In section. Log in with your library account information

If you have never used this system you will need to set up your account or if you have forgotten your password you can use that link as well. This login is not connected to any of your other Seminary accounts.


4. Choose the pickup location

We will assume that your pickup location is in Wilmore, KY unless you specify otherwise. 


5. Submit your hold request



5. We process your request:

  1. It will take one to three days for our team to process your request.
  2. You will receive an email notification that your books is ready to pickup.

7. Pick up your items:

  1. Come to the Help Desk and they will check out your book to you when you arrive.
